| The goal of this project was to create the most energy efficient building with minimum expense. We designed a 1700sqft rectangular box with two large porches and overhangs on the long sides. The house has a central living/dining/kitchen area with master bedroom/bath on one end and two other berooms with a common bath on the other end. The exterior walls of the house are made out of ICFs (insulated concrete forms) and the roof out of SIPs (structural insulated panels). The roof is 26 GA Galvalume metal roof and designed to sustain a 20,000 gallon on-site rainwater collection system. The homeowner was very much involved in finishing out the home. | |||||||||||
